The best AI music generators in 2026
Suno, Eleven Music, Melody Genie, Moises and Udio compared on prices, download limits and commercial rights, verified on each vendor's own pages.
The short answer
Suno is the best AI music generator for most people: its licensed v6 models make full songs with vocals, and Pro is $8 a month on yearly billing. Eleven Music has the clearest commercial-use terms, Melody Genie is best if you start from lyrics and want several music models in one app, Moises is for musicians working with existing songs, and Udio currently doesn't allow downloads.
- Suno capped downloads on September 3, 2026 — 7 lifetime on Free, 20 a month on Pro, 60 on Premier.
- Udio has disabled all audio, video and stem downloads since October 29, 2025.
- Eleven Music allows streaming distribution from its $22 Creator plan; Free and Starter can't be released on streaming services.
- Free plans on Suno, Melody Genie and Eleven Music don't include commercial streaming release.
Disclosure: Melody Genie is built by Georion LLC, which shares team members with Hybridhand.
Our picks
- 1.
Suno
Best overall for full songs with vocals
Suno's v6 models, launched in September 2026 in partnership with Warner Music Group, BMG and Believe, generate complete songs with vocals from text, audio, images or video. You can rewrite a single section or line without regenerating the track, and Premier adds Suno Studio, a browser workstation with MIDI and effects. Pro is listed at $8 a month with yearly billing. The catch is the new download allowance: commercial use covers only songs you download within it.

Music v2 added full song structure and section editing. Credits are shared with ElevenLabs' voice products.

Melody Genie
Best for songwriters who start from lyrics
Melody Genie is built around the words. You write with 100+ Style DNA profiles, hum-to-lyrics or image-to-lyrics, get a 0–100 Genie Score for your lyric, then turn it into a full song with one of seven music models — Suno V6 by default, plus Google Lyria, MiniMax Music, ElevenLabs Music and others. Starter is $7.99 a month and includes commercial use; the free plan gives about three songs a month without commercial rights.

Moises
Best for musicians working with existing songs
Moises isn't a song generator — it splits any track into stems (vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano and more), detects chords and key, and changes pitch and tempo for practice. It runs on web, mobile and desktop. The free plan allows five uploads a month; paid prices are shown only after you log in.

The rights question comes first
With AI music, what you’re allowed to do with the song matters more than how good it sounds. Since late 2025 the big generators have signed deals with record labels, and their terms changed with them:
- Suno now ties commercial use to downloads within your monthly allowance.
- Udio switched off downloads entirely while it moves to a licensed platform.
- Eleven Music publishes a plan-by-plan table of permitted uses.
Before you subscribe, check two things on the vendor’s own terms page: whether you can distribute to streaming services, and whether rights cover songs made on a free plan if you upgrade later. On Suno, they don’t.
Generators vs tools for musicians
Suno, Eleven Music, Melody Genie and Udio create new songs. Moises does something different: it takes a song you already have and pulls it apart into stems, finds the chords and lets you slow it down to practise.
Declaring AI use
Melody Genie’s own guidance says AI use must be declared to distributors, so check your distributor’s policy before release. And commercial permission from any of these services isn’t the same as copyright protection.
